Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-11. This policy describes how Parsely (“Parsely,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our websites, applications, and related services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Services”). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Account and contact details, such as name, email address, organization, and phone number when you register, contact us, or use SMS features.
- Verification and security data, including one-time passcodes, timestamps, device or browser metadata used to reduce fraud, and logs of message delivery status.
- Usage data, such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, diagnostics, and performance metrics.
- Support communications you send to us, including email content and attachments you choose to provide.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Send transactional and verification messages you request, including SMS;
- Detect, prevent, and investigate security incidents, abuse, or fraud;
- Communicate about updates, incidents, and policies;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
- Analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form where permitted.
4. SMS and telephone communications
When you provide a mobile number and consent to SMS, we may use SMS to deliver messages consistent with your request and applicable law. Our SMS program may include: Meal logging by SMS (incoming food messages and outgoing macro summaries), account and subscription notices you request, and security messages where needed.
Message frequency varies with how often you log and your account activity. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Opt-in: Users opt in to SMS logging by linking a mobile number and confirming consent in the Parsely app (or the flow you ship). Security and required account messages may still apply.
Opt-out and help: Reply STOP to opt out of non-essential SMS. Reply HELP for help. Opting out of security messages may be limited where required for account safety.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message content and availability may depend on your carrier and device capabilities.
5. Third-party services
We use subprocessors to operate the Services. This includes Twilio Inc. and its affiliates to send and receive SMS messages and related telecommunications metadata. Twilio’s privacy notice explains how Twilio handles data it processes as a service provider. We may also use hosting providers, analytics vendors, email delivery services, and security tools.
Links to third-party sites are governed by those sites’ policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party practices.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to remember preferences, authenticate sessions, measure performance, and understand how the Services are used. Where required, we will obtain consent before non-essential cookies are set. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not function if you disable cookies.
7. Legal bases (where applicable)
If data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on appropriate legal bases including: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (for example securing the Services and understanding aggregate usage), consent where required (such as certain marketing or non-essential cookies), and legal obligations.
8. Sharing of information
We may share personal information:
- With vendors and service providers who assist our operations under confidentiality obligations;
- With professional advisers (lawyers, auditors) where necessary;
- To comply with law, lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and security; and
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information for money. Where “sale” or “sharing” is defined broadly by law, we provide choices as required.
9. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on data category and legal requirements.
10. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International transfers
We may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising where applicable. We do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights.
